The seventh session of Data Privacy Basics was recently held last August 20, 2019, Tuesday, at the Philippine Social Science Center, Quezon City. Attendees from the banking, lending, and technology industry, as well as representatives from government agencies, gathered together for an overview of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 delivered by Atty. Roberto Miguel O. Rañeses, mid-level associate of the firm and a member of the firm’s Data Privacy Core Team.

Data Privacy Basics is a monthly free orientation hosted by Disini Law, Data Privacy Philippines, and the Digital Freedom Network, to educate the public on data privacy. This initiative has been running since January of this year and continues to enlighten the public on the importance of data privacy and compliance.
